Event Description

In October 1998, Aaron Kreifels thought he found a scarecrow hanging from a fence in a rural area outside of Laramie, Wyoming.

Tragically, that "scarecrow" turned out to be 21-year-old Matthew Shepard who had been tied to a fence, beaten, and left to die by two men who wanted to torture him because he was gay.

Based on interviews from the residents of the town and the personal journals of Tectonic Theater Project members, The Laramie Project depicts the reactions of many citizens of Laramie, WY as they come to terms with how Shepard's murder has shaken the foundations of their once quiet town.

The Circle² Collective combines theatre and film to bring diverse voices to a new generation of theatre patrons.

We are a Los Angeles based artistic ensemble that was founded in 2013 shortly after several of our ensemble members graduated from Cal State L.A.'s M.F.A. program in Television, Film, and Theatre (many of our other members are also CSULA alumni or students from the M.F.A., M.A., and B.A. theatre/film programs). Our artistic director, Ricky Pak, called us all together to use our excitement about graduation as the momentum for forming a company of like-minded artists.
