Dear friends,

I'm thrilled to be joining my colleagues for our Professional Development Intensive this summer, June 15-19, 2020 in New York City. It will be an exceptional opportunity to learn the method and pedagogy of Moment Work and share ideas in an intimate, collaborative environment. I hope to see you there. Find more information and enroll here. This intensive, now in its third year, is specially designed for college professors and high school teachers to learn the method and pedagogy of Moment Work and practical applications for use in classrooms to enhance their existing curricula. We developed Moment Work while creating Tectonic's first plays, The Laramie Project & Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, and it has been at the heart of every Tectonic work since. Moment Work is a collaborative method for devising theater that uses every available element of stagecraft—sound, lights, space, text, costumes, and more—to bring a story to life. Participants in the intensive will explore these elements and their potential to create compelling narratives that can only be told onstage, while learning our teaching philosophy and practice from Tectonic's Master Teaching Artists. http://media.campaigner.com/media/74/743100/F5DE0514-387C-474A-985E-518133D05013.JPG?g=1576259062873" alt="F5DE0514-387C-474A-985E-518133D05013.JPG" class="CToWUd a6T" tabindex="0" /> Successful graduates of the program will receive a diploma from Tectonic's Moment Work Institute, led by Bree Luck, under the Artistic Direction of Moisés Kaufman.

Among the 40 teachers from across the US and Canada who have taken this intensive, responses include:

"Moment Work is magical... there's something beautiful and necessary about bringing theater people (and theater educators, in particular) into a room for a week. I learned so much from everyone there."

"This training has made me think about creating theatre in a new way.  I've been teaching for over 15 years, and I appreciate Tectonic's approach and methodologies. Moment Work has helped me become inspired to integrate the methodologies to my classes and to my productions, such as giving life/voice to all theatrical elements, sequencing, and layering."
